The Ecclesbourne Way is a new walking route, following the course of the River Ecclesbourne in Derbyshire. The walk starts in Duffield, a few miles North of Derby, and runs for 11 miles to Wirksworth.

This website gives the background to the project, practical information on how to go about the walk and detailed description and maps of the route.

The Downloads page contains details of the route in a printable or electronic format to take with you on the walk.

You need to be adequately prepared to undertake this walk.
Read the Info page carefully, and the Safety information at the foot of that page, before setting off.

If you have any comments or enquiries, please use the Contact page.

Updates to route and website

As at June 2017, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust are nearing completion of a significant project of enhancements to the Ecclesbourne Way.  This includes addition of an optional extension to Alport Height, and a full revision of the printed leaflet.  This website is currently being updated to reflect these changes, but not yet complete.
